If you’re on the look out for a beach towel with a difference, then you can stop the search right now as we think we may have found it.

The bestselling Dock & Bay Beach Towel is causing a bit of a stir on Amazon with shoppers saying they’d never go back to a standard beach towel after using it.

So what’s so special about it? It’s just a towel, right?

Well, it’s designed to soak up moisture quickly before drying three times faster than cotton towels, for one.

It’s also made to repel sand. You simply pick it up, give it a shake and the sand should all fall off. Which is basically going to save your holiday.

‘I wasn’t that bothered but I have to say after using one on holiday it is amazing! Who would think a towel would be called amazing?!’ one, dare we say, amazed shopper wrote in a review.

They continued: ‘It is small when packed but does have some weight to it. It is easy to repack which was a pleasant surprise. After a dip in the sea I used this towel, just wrap it around yourself, the water is gone, no rubbing required!’

Another shopper joked: ‘I bought this for my husband who thought I’d gone nuts giving him a flimsy towel, but he took it all back when he went for a swim in the sea and this towel instantly dried him and now says it’s the best thing I’ve ever bought. Great for the beach/pool.’

A third reviewer said they couldn’t believe they spent £150 on several of these towels for their family – but has no regrets.

‘No more lugging heavy wet sandy towels up from the beach. They are more absorbent than I was expecting – I wouldn’t use them at home for bathroom towels but they are perfect for the beach. Would never go back to standard beach towels,’ they said.

The lightweight towel, first seen on BBC’s Dragon’s Den, is made from 100% recycled materials – 83% polyester and 17% polyamide.

Most of the towels come in a stripey design with different colours to choose from, but there’s also an option with a wavey design, one with chevrons and a couple of block colour versions.

There are various sizes and each towel is accompanied by a pouch to put it in. Prices start at £28.99.
